Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

Letting children enjoy a beautiful and fun day on the water, and seeing manatees is the best way to preserve and protect these gentle giants for years (and generations) to come! Frankly, most of our staff are big kids, regardless of their age! :D We have had tiny humans as young as 2 and more grown up versions up to their 80s enjoy our tours and it is always a delight to let them discover the magic that are the manatees. Our favorite part was how close we were able to get to the manatees! Our guides did a great job making sure that we found the manatees and were able to get so close to them! We enjoyed this tour tremendously and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the Crystal River area!

We love the fact that treating the manatees with respect by using passive observation is the best way to see them. By simply floating and letting the manatees choose what to do, the manatees are much more comfortable and are more likely to be curious and approach swimmers. A curious manatee is a wonderful thing. Early morning start and so glad we did. We saw the sun rise over the water as we sailed to see manatee. On the way we saw a pod of dolphins that we stopped to watch play. Then we swam in two different areas where you can see manatee. The first was very murky and we only saw two once they came up out of the murk beside you. The second place was near the springs where the water was super clear. There were however a fair few people about. What I loved most about our tour guide was the fact that they had strict rules about not touching and disturbing the feeding and sleeping manatee. The tour guides were part of the rescue manatee government group so would be called out to help injured or sick manatee so they respected their habitats and need for less human interaction and knew masses about them. Would love to go again! Note- it gets extremely cold on the boat in the morning so take very very warm clothes!!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! Our early morning tours are traditionally the best way to see manatees when they are the most active. As you noticed, the manatees also choose different parts of Kings Bay to visit. Some areas have beautiful clear water, while others are murkier, but may have a much bigger and more active group of manatees. We are delighted that you enjoyed the tour. Our captains and guides (and the shop as a whole) are really committed to preserving the manatees, the Bay and the environment. Luckily we think the best way to observe and see manatees is by passive observation- and that way the manatees are much more comfortable, safe and more likely to want to stay near the snorkelers.
