Your Deluxe Manatee Swim Tour provides a unique opportunity to view Florida's Nature Coast. CRWS is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program - promoting passive observation and responsible eco tourism. Your tour will take you past a state Archaeological Park, a State Nature Preserve and to a National Wildlife Refuge. You may view up to 57 varieties of birds, river otters, deer, pigs dolphins, a variety of fish and turtles besides the opportunity to swim in the area of the gentle giants manatees.

Dakota , John and Kristie enabled us to have a magical experience even though their first concern ( snd ours) was the well being of the manatees. We were told to do nothing but float. We did just that and were lucky enough to have a mom and baby approach us. The baby was so curious! It actually came over to nibble on us as did an adult. We were in our glory. We thank the crew for such an amazing experience. We had a few laughs as well on the boat . Can’t wait to go back .

Most guests are amazed that the very best way to have an incredible experience in a manner that is best for the manatees is to simply float quietly in the water. You and your group did that really well- and it is absolutely magical when the manatees decide to get close to "discover " you! I know that Dakota, John and Kristie told you that the manatees have poor eyesight, but excellent tactile capabilities due to the sensory hairs on their bodies-. By letting them decide what to do- they are encouraged to discover you by "braille". We find that often the calves, and young juveniles are the ones that are most likely to be curious and want to interact because they don't need to eat as much as the adults- but as you found out- some adults are very curious too. We were in Orlando for our Son's rugby tournament. Not really Disney people so looked for something different to do. So glad we found this trip. It was great. They are very professional and you get a river boat tour as well as seeing the Manatees. Clean dry wetsuits that fitted well. The captain and guide are very knowledgeable and found Manatees in two different areas - one that was admittedly busy with loads of other tours and then another all to ourselves in really clear water. Highly recommend this trip.

This trip was really for my friend. As it turned out I couldn’t make myself get in the water. The tour captain and dive master did not make me feel like I’ve failed, quite the contrary The captain remained on the boat and helped me enjoy the manatees from above the water. My friend was able to get the full experience and was completely in awe of the experience. She was so emotional that she cried. Now that is quite the review.

Hi Heather, Thank you so much for the review, and for pointing out that many of our guests don't want to swim- and that is fine! You can see manatees from the boat (wearing polarized sunglasses helps visibility) and many people enjoy just taking the boat ride, and watching the snorkelers and manatees. We often have groups where one or several people choose not to swim- and that is fine. Our Coast Guard Captains stay on the boat for the entire tour- so they are happy to answer questions, point out items of interest, or just let you chill and enjoy the scenery if that is what you prefer. Our shop also offers River Cruises which is similar to the Manatee tour, except no one wants to swim. With this tour the guests actually see more of the Crystal River/Kings Bay because the boat does not anchor. The River Cruise is a perfect trip for bird watchers and guests who just want a day on the water to see the local area, manatees, birds and other items of interest. The manatees are very special- guests have described them as: "Magical" because they make almost everyone who sees them fall in love with them. We are so happy that both you and your friend enjoyed the tour, thank you for taking the time to write your very kind review. We appreciate it very much.
