We went on a manatee tour early Sunday morning (September 30, 2018). The location was easy to find. We watched a short video on the things not to do while in the water and we were also given wet suits and a mask/snorkel. Don and John were our guides and they were both very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We took the pontoon about a half hour or so to where they believed manatees would be. Other guided tours were already in the water so we scooted around for a bit to see if we found anything else however we did not. We saw one manatee that was pregnant, we watched her for 20 mins or so, she was sleeping. There was another one near but our guide told us to head back to the boat and we were going to check another spot to see if we could find active manatees. We got back onto the pontoon to head to a Three Sisters Spring, along the way we saw a mom and baby manatee but we were not able to swim with them as they were on the move. There was construction happening at the spring and the water was so murky we could not see the bottom. By this time, we had to start heading back. We were a little disappointed because we could have stayed at the one area and saw the other manatee but they thought we may see a different more active one but did not. We plan to go back during peak season and will definitely use Crystal River Watersports.

Hi Taylor, thank you so much for the amazing review! We really appreciate you choosing Crystal River Watersports for your tour- and we look forward to seeing you in winter. There will be lots more manatees, and they should be in clearer water too! Having said that, John and Don had a great time out on the water with you, and really appreciated the fact that you were so accommodating with trying to find manatees, and being willing to continue to look versus crowding a manatee that already had people around it. It is much less stressful for the manatees, and it is fantastic when our guests realize that we have to balance swimming with them with protecting them. The guides get really good at reading the body language/behavior of the manatees and can often tell if one is going to stay, or is going to swim away. We do appreciate your patience. Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you this winter.

Took the tour to swim with the manatees at King's Bay. The day was perfect, not a cloud in the sky, and the water was mostly clear. We say several manatees, and were able to get in the water and watch them as they did what manatees normally do: eat and sleep. Our tour guides: Capt. Jim and Dakota were excellent explaining all about the manatees as well as the fishes, birds, and flora we saw along the bays and the canals. It was a very informative trip.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. One of the benefits of this business is meeting wonderful people, and sharing with them the beauty of the nature coast and it's inhabitants. We really appreciated the fact that you were so respectful of the manatees and enjoyed seeing them even when they were really into eating! Having guests who embrace passive observation helps keep the manatees safe, healthy and happy- and we (and the manatees!) really appreciate it. Thank you so much for going out with us, and for the wonderful review.

The manatees have been so happy this summer, and we are thrilled that the experience of snorkeling with them and the rest of the eco-tour was enjoyable for your whole family.
