Diamond Head Running Tour

Overview
Diamond Head Crater run. Starts at the Honolulu Zoo and is 10K (6.2 miles) round trip. A gradual uphill run (we can set the pace determined by who is in the group) passing by Kapiolani Park, residential neighborhoods, a few shops, restaurants, and historical/ former military sites. Once inside the crater, it's a 560 ft. gain on a trail to the bunker at the summit. There are 175 steps on the way. At the top - there is an amazing 360 view of Waikiki and surrounding Honolulu. There are historical and many interesting stories to be told. It's an easy return trip back down to the Zoo. We provide water and snacks. Running and fitness tips are provided by our experienced guides.

We had a great morning with Kawika. So happy he kept to our pace as I was recovering from injury and a little jet lagged to. He is super knowledgable and we learnt heaps about Diamond Head Crater.

I did the Friday morning tour with Kawika. Started at 6.30am at Honolulu Zoo and made our way up to Diamond Head at a leisurely pace. The climb to the top is via a winding trail including 175 steps and a short tunnel but is great fun and accessible to most. The views from the top are absolutely amazing. Kawika was fantastic all the way through the tour. He’s wealth of running and local Hawaiian knowledge. I thoroughly recommend this tour. Mahalo Kawika

We had a good trip up to the top of Diamond Head with lots of great information along the way. Plenty of time to get recommendations from a local. They were extremely flexible with pace so no one was left behind. It was a total 650 foot climb overall.
