Diamond Head Running Tour

Overview
Diamond Head Crater run. Starts at the Honolulu Zoo and is 10K (6.2 miles) round trip. A gradual uphill run (we can set the pace determined by who is in the group) passing by Kapiolani Park, residential neighborhoods, a few shops, restaurants, and historical/ former military sites. Once inside the crater, it's a 560 ft. gain on a trail to the bunker at the summit. There are 175 steps on the way. At the top - there is an amazing 360 view of Waikiki and surrounding Honolulu. There are historical and many interesting stories to be told. It's an easy return trip back down to the Zoo. We provide water and snacks. Running and fitness tips are provided by our experienced guides.

I travel a lot and I’m the only one in my family that runs. I’m always in training and need to run on vacation. I hate running alone I reached out to City Running Tour and Yovo replied right away!!! He offered a couple tours and a lot of miles. (Which was my request) When we met it was raining and a change of plan was the best thing to ever happen to me in my life. This Diamond Head tour was amazing!! Not to hard so any level of runner (or hiker) could do this!! The morning in the crater was amazing!! All the photos I got that day are breathtaking! I was a little emotional at the end when running out there was a full rainbow in the crater!! That turned into a double rainbow!! Yovo was amazing!! He pushed me out of my comfort zone and I’m forever grateful that I faced a fear (fear of a hard hike and long run) and got to see so much at the top of diamond head! Thank you so much Yovo!!! I’m so sorry my review is late but when I come back to the island I’ll be back to run with you!!!

Our guide Yovo was brilliant and made this a thoroughly fun and enjoyable run and hike to the top of Diamond Head. The scenery was breathtaking and Yovo gave us lots of information and history as we went along well as snacks and he took a huge amount of photos for us which he then sent on to us. This is a great tour for anyone who wants to see the natural attractions of Honolulu whilst keeping their running going on holiday. Thank Yovo you were a fun and enthusiastic tour guide - Emma & Richard

I signed up my teenage son for this tour. It was a was a great way for him to keep up his running on vacation and explore Diamond Head. He loved it and would do it again. I liked that he had someone to run with rather than running alone in a new place. The guide was awesome and also sent us amazing pictures from the run.
