What To Expect

This Brewery Tour is hosted by a Certified Cicerone, a recognized expert when it comes to beer. As your guide takes you to each brewery, you'll do more than just drink. You'll learn about the brewing process, the ingredients and the history of beer while you discover some of the best breweries Asheville has to offer. At each stop on the brewery tour, you will enjoy three to four six ounce samples of beer. It is highly recommended that you eat a substantial meal before the tour and take smaller samples if you feel like you've had enough alcohol. In between breweries, your guide will tell you about the history of Asheville and how it came to be the beautiful city it is today. Feel free to ask questions at any point during the tour. We met with Greg from Brew-ed at Hi-Wire Brewing. He spent an hour teaching us about beer, how it is made and how to recognize the different types of beer. We then went on a short walk and he told us so much about the history of downtown Asheville. We went on to a different brewery that had a totally different culture and taste. Greg was a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable about beer and the town. It was the best part of our visit to Asheville!

BREW-ed is an amazing adventure for beer beginners, beer experts, and everyone in between. A common misconception about beer tours (and craft beer in general) is that it's only going to be for "beer geeks". This tour essentially shatters that myth. Our tour included three breweries and samples approximately 10 different styles. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging on both beer and the history of Asheville. The total walking distance between breweries is minimal, but an excellent way to break up the tour. If you are a beer fanatic or you just want to explore one of the most popular facets of Asheville, I highly recommend doing the tour.

We were in Asheville celebrating a bachelorette party and this tour had a little something for everyone. Great variety of beers for everyone to try and we even had a group member with Celiac's and are so appreciative of our guide and the breweries accomidating her needs. Also wonderful information on beers, brewing, and Asheville!
