Terrific tour! My family, consisting of myself, my husband, and our 20 something sons, visited the Asheville area for a few days recently. The vacation was supposed to have something for everyone, with the idea that all would participate in everything even if they were not greatly excited about the activity. The activity the boys chose was the brewery tour. My husband and I are not beer people, but we thought the boys would enjoy it. I researched all the brewery tours in Asheville and chose this one because of three reasons - it was a walking tour, (I did not want to have to get in a van) the tour included some history of Asheville, and it sounded as if the tour guide would be very knowledgeable. Cliff was excellent! Everyone agreed that it was the most interesting activity of the week. Cliff discussed the biology of making beer, the chemistry of making beer, and, of course, the best way to taste beer. He explained the process in a way that made sense to everyone and was very interesting. My boys have been on several brewery tours, and they said that this was the best. Thanks Cliff, for a great afternoon!

Great Tour. Really took the time to explain everything and educate the members of tour with great beer knowledge. The Brewery's we tried were all unique and had great beers. The walk wasn't bad (im 6.5 and 350 lbs and was able to complete without challenge). Went to 3 brewerys and had 3-4 tasters at each one. By the end of the tour I had a nice buzz but wasn't drunk. The point of this type of tour isn't as much to get drunk but more to educate yourself about beer. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to learn more about beer, try some of asheville's best brewerys, and have a good time (plus you burn a few calories walking around instead of a bus). This was def a 5 star experience. Below are just a few suggestions on how to improve the tour even more! Tips for improvement: - have a Brew-Ed sign at the starting point (so people know where to congregate at the first brewery) - When the group size is larger than 8 or 9 people, consider getting one of the little re-chargeable speakers (with mic and headset) to carry in one hand as we go and speak on so the people in the back of the group can hear you better. - Sticky Name tags so the group can get to know each other better. - Maybe a little made up "certificate" card that we get to keep at end saying we completed your tour and have basic understanding of beer. (this could also have your contact info like a business card). No Cons at all, was a fun, unique, experience and truly made our asheville trip!!

Thank you so much for your great review! The sign is a great idea for gathering people at the beginning of the tour. I've been working under the "see who looks like they're not sure what they're supposed to be doing" model, but a sign would make it easier on everyone. Also, I have definitely considered getting one of those portable speakers for louder groups. I have hesitated because I'm not sure other brewery guests not on the tour would appreciate me encroaching on their conversation. But, I guess I already am as I'm yelling to the people on the tour. I'm glad you enjoyed all the breweries and I hope your time helped you in your appreciation of great beer.

great tour. great information from Cliff. Definitely worth the time and money when in Asheville. Not much walking as the breweries are fairly close together. Made it to 3 and went to one other after the tour. great time.

Thank you so much for the great review! Asheville makes it easy to do walking tours. Lots of stuff to see and not a lot of ground to cover between breweries. Plus, it gives a little time to talk about the city between stops. I'm glad you had a good time. Thanks again for the kind words.
