Cliff is an excellent speaker, tour guide and group leader. His knowledge extends further than beer and beer brewing and goes into little details of the area and city. We could have listened to him talk all day! The beer was great and plenty of samples. I was happy to get to try all sorts of beer, maybe some that I would not have ordered otherwise. The breweries were happy to have us there and even being the World Cup Final and busy, it was never too crowded. We had such a great time and I would highly suggest this for someone visiting Asheville!

Loved the combination of learning about beer and Asheville; Cliff is great, although I echo the earlier reviewer's suggestion about getting up close if you want to hear everything. We like beer but are not big drinkers, so while we thought we were pacing ourselves, by the time we got to the third brewery, my husband and I were sharing a single glass. Probably should have been more selective with our earlier samples and not finished the ones we didn't just love ;) After our tour, we walked to a nearby restaurant and had dinner while we sobered up enough to drive! Cliff's tours visit different breweries on different days, so we'll do another one on our next visit to Asheville. Recommend!

My husband is a home brewer so I arranged this Saturday afternoon walking tour while we were visiting Asheville recently. It was a big hit. Tour guide Cliff was very knowledgeable about the process of brewing. Our tour visited Hi-Wire, Wicked Weed and Twin Leaf; but we were told the tour destinations do change. There were multiple tastings at each stop. This town is full of micro-breweries - a beer lover's paradise. Be aware: the microbreweries can get pretty noisy so if you have any hearing deficiencies you may have trouble hearing every word from Cliff. That said, if you want a nice walk, some city history, and access to great beer along with great explanations of what you are drinking and how it was made, this is the tour for you.
