The Downtown Cleveland Christmas guided walking tour explores the history of some of downtown's most famous department stores and their many Christmas traditions.

Stroll down Euclid Avenue as we discuss Cleveland Christmas delights like Higbee's Twigbee Shop, Halle Bros. Mr. Jingeling and the Sterling-Lindner Christmas tree. Experience downtown all decorated for the holidays! The tour starts in Public Square and ends in Playhouse Square with a stop in the Arcade.

What To Expect

Public Square

We start in Public Square talking about some general history about Cleveland's famous Department Stores and some unique Cleveland Christmas facts. The Square is lit with about half a million lights! As we move around the Square, we will discuss Higbee's and the May Company and Christmas traditions like the Twigbee Shop and the movie A Christmas Story.

I just loved this tour! Scott was amazing! He was so informative and engaging. I really loved learning the department store history of my beloved city. Public Square looked amazing with all of the decorations. It was a perfect addition to the holidays.

This tour was fun, friendly, and informative! It begins in Public Square, which is beautifully lit up for Christmas. Our guide was enthusiastic and engaging. One of the best parts of local tours is seeing the passion that the hosts have for their cities. I did the tour with my sister and our guide recommended a good restaurant for dinner afterwards. We visited from Michigan, so the cold weather didn’t deter us! Would come back and do another Cleveland tour 100%.
