The Downtown Cleveland Christmas guided walking tour explores the history of some of downtown's most famous department stores and their many Christmas traditions.

Stroll down Euclid Avenue as we discuss Cleveland Christmas delights like Higbee's Twigbee Shop, Halle Bros. Mr. Jingeling and the Sterling-Lindner Christmas tree. Experience downtown all decorated for the holidays! The tour starts in Public Square and ends in Playhouse Square with a stop in the Arcade.

What To Expect

Public Square

We start in Public Square talking about some general history about Cleveland's famous Department Stores and some unique Cleveland Christmas facts. The Square is lit with about half a million lights! As we move around the Square, we will discuss Higbee's and the May Company and Christmas traditions like the Twigbee Shop and the movie A Christmas Story.

Loved this tour! Scott was very knowledgeable about Cleveland's historic department story history. He was not long winded, had great trivia and stories and moved right along our downtown area. The 6:00 tour had all the Christmas lights on downtown and it was a perfect outing for the season. Highly recommend!

Great tour from the beginning meeting by mayor stature at public square all the way to playhouse square. Lots of interesting information about a town I’ve lived in for decades and thought I already knew. We did the Christmas tour. It was COLD and there is only one indoor stop at the Hyatt Arcade. Dress appropriately. Like maybe a Ghillie suite with a parka over it and then add a few more layers. Despite the cold you will love the tour. A perfect start to Cleveland Christmas.
