This was money well spent! Our guide was the best!! He had us hanging on every word because of his historical knowledge & pictures of old downtown Las Vegas & his knowledge of all the happenings going on to revitalize it back to what it was. The go to place!!!!!! We would highly recommend this walking tour to all ages. Definitely would stay & play in old downtown Las Vegas after our exposure from this tour.

We went on this walking tour wanting to know more about Las Vegas outside the Strip and based on other reviews, we weren't disappointed. It was easy to book online and join the tour. Kelly was an excellent host. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a fun and interesting introduction to the whole story of Las Vegas from right at the beginning through present day and positive prospects for the future. We learnt about places, events and colourful characters. The whole experience was interesting and fun and we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting for the first time or returning to the city but not been downtown before or in the last few years.

Skip the cabs and hop on the bus on the Las Vegas Strip and ride downtown to Fremont Street, then walk two blocks to the Plaza Hotel to begin this walking tour. It's a side of Vegas you've never seen. Yes, there are casinos but this is the original hotel/casino district now renovated and rebuilt. Kelley, our tour guide, is the perfect combo of hospitality and knowledge for the 2-hour walk. He points out all the historical sights (the Golden Nugget casino and shark tank swimming pool) and even has pictures of the landmarks and businesses that have been torn down and/or replaced. The walk takes you through the Fremont Street entertainment area to the newly developed Freemont East, an unexpected bastion of urban coolness with startup restaurants, businesses and shopping you must see. I found vegan jerky made of nopales (cactus) and cured with a Carribean jerky sauce. Bonus: prices are lower here than on the Strip.
