Eye-level whale encounters onboard our low-to-water small group adventure rafts! Native Hawaiian owned and voted TripAdvisors Traveler's Choice, Hawaii Ocean Rafting has been Maui’s original ocean rafting experience for more than 30 years. Our small group tours of 16 guests or less make for a fun, family style experience. Although whales are protected in Hawaii and we do not approach them closer than federal regulations, they often approach our small rafts for those up close and eye level whale encounters.

My family of five had a great time on this whale watch. The small size of the boat made it easy to maneuver around. The crew was friendly and enthusiastic. We saw several whales including a mama and calf, and two whales breaching in the distance. Recommend!

Jill and Ilan were so awesome! They are super knowledgeable about whales and their behavior. No words can express what it’s like to experience an 80,000lb mammal breaching just a few yards in front of you. Thank you!!

We have done other whale watching tours in the past, and they were just okay. We booked this on a whim to fill some time, and we are so happy we did. Being on the raft was such a better experience than we had had in past tours. I hope I’m getting their names right, but CJ and Brittney were great! Brittney had great info about the whales, and answered all our questions. When we left we were already talking about how we’d like to come back in a different part of whale season and do this tour again!
