Overview

The Kenai River is a world renown river situated in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge! Utilizing a power drifter boat, we're able to drift down the aqua colored river in silence, which lends itself to unique opportunities to view wildlife. The river is home to millions of pacific salmon, which make their way upriver every year to spawn! As a former employee of the Dept. of Fish and Game, I'm always up-to-date on the current affairs of our fisheries here in the state. Not to mention, knowing where the great or not so great fishing is. I am a registered, Coast Guard approved fishing guide with the State of Alaska, with permits to fish the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, State Parks and the Mat-Su Borough. I have also written articles for the fishing publication (Fish Alaska Magazine).

What's Included

I will provide all of the fishing gear (except for waders and fishing licenses). Waders are essential when fishing off of gravel bars!

Guide was surly. Boat was set up to fish out of the back, constantly entangling my fly line on the motor. Guide would take photos with his phone so that he would try to extort payment for pictures with fish caught. Avoid.

Sorry you felt that way! I try to vet all my clients to make sure we're a good fit! That includes inquiring about their fishing abilities and physical limitations! Unfortunately, you were not honest about either. I love to take photo's, I consider it part of the experience. Never once in all my 25+ years of guiding, have I ever extorted payments for photo's. Lol! I wish you well in your future endeavors!

Captain Dan put us on the fish for sure! It took a while to get the technique right, but we hooked so many fish that I am still sore over a week later. He has a patient, congenial approach. I can't imagine anyone going out with Captain Dan and feel like it wasn't a great trip. I highly recommend.
