Fishing for Trophy Rainbows and Salmon on the world Famous Kenai River in Alaska

Overview
The Kenai River is a world renown river situated in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge! Utilizing a power drifter boat, we're able to drift down the aqua colored river in silence, which lends itself to unique opportunities to view wildlife. The river is home to millions of pacific salmon, which make their way upriver every year to spawn! As a former employee of the Dept. of Fish and Game, I'm always up-to-date on the current affairs of our fisheries here in the state. Not to mention, knowing where the great or not so great fishing is. I am a registered, Coast Guard approved fishing guide with the State of Alaska, with permits to fish the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, State Parks and the Mat-Su Borough. I have also written articles for the fishing publication (Fish Alaska Magazine).

Dan was a fantastic guide. We spent two days with him flossing for sockeyes. He also arranged for a third day of Silvers for us with a trusted associate when his own schedule could not accommodate. It was our first trip to Alaska and Dan made it easy with great recommendations for everything from places to stay to where to eat, and of course - how to catch fish. Our group was three men and our 80 year old dad. Dan, made sure that dad caught the biggest fish and paid special attention to all of our needs. I can't wait to plan our next trip with D-Ray.

Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our day with Dan a couple of weeks ago! He knew where the sockeye were and took us right to them. Within 3 hours we had each caught our limit! He showed us how to cast and how to bring those bad boys in! What a thrill! Dan is definitely a fish whisperer and a fine human to hang around with for the day. Highly recommend! Thanks, Dan!

Frankly, our guide made this a wonderful day. We are all experienced Fishers, yet, we muddled our way through the Kenai Flop, (flossing). Its a work out, and tests your will, but when you hook up, its on. The scenery is beautiful, water crystal clear, and just wonderful. I will be back for the Rainbows.
