Overview

The Kenai River is a world renown river situated in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge! Utilizing a power drifter boat, we're able to drift down the aqua colored river in silence, which lends itself to unique opportunities to view wildlife. The river is home to millions of pacific salmon, which make their way upriver every year to spawn! As a former employee of the Dept. of Fish and Game, I'm always up-to-date on the current affairs of our fisheries here in the state. Not to mention, knowing where the great or not so great fishing is. I am a registered, Coast Guard approved fishing guide with the State of Alaska, with permits to fish the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, State Parks and the Mat-Su Borough. I have also written articles for the fishing publication (Fish Alaska Magazine).

What's Included

I will provide all of the fishing gear (except for waders and fishing licenses). Waders are essential when fishing off of gravel bars!

I spent many hours with Dan on the Russian River years ago and watched him catch fish where no body else was. Dan effectively taught me the art of fly fishing from the basics, to actually hooking into fish like he was. It’s all “Presentation” he would say, I finally got what he meant, and it works. I would highly recommend Dan, his decades of fishing Alaska and his patients to teach while catching fish are unmatched. You won’t be disappointed!
