Florida Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour | Haulover canal (Titusville)

Overview
Florida bioluminescence is the #1 kayaking trip in the Orlando, Cocoa beach area. We are located about an hour from Universal Studios and The Walt Disney world area theme parks. Our "tourist tours or "visitor tours", as the locals would call them, are ideal for a romantic evening on the water or an expedition in the name of science with the little ones (as long as they are over 5yrs of age). Our tour guides will guide you through the Indian River lagoon and show you something truly magical as we make our way through mangrove trails and the shallow flats of the lagoon.

We will spend a leisurely 90 mins on the water during this tour. You may want to leave the camera at home for this excursion, as the bioluminescence is very hard to photograph unless you have professional equipment.

First, I will say that the staff and tour guides were all super nice, informative, and helpful so for that I am thankful!! And all the gear they provided was great including a flash light and whistle on the life jacket and glow in the dark necklaces! I think what the company actually offers is more like a night time kayaking tour with a hint of bioluminescent experience. We had the expectation that we were going to see these cool blue bioluminescence in the water like pictures show.... but all it was was sparkles when you splash the water. Though the tour guide was telling us a lot of cool history about the canal, the stars, manatee in the area, sting ray, etc .....thatā€™s not exactly what we came to see and hear about. And we didnā€™t see any animals or anything, which is not the staffā€™s fault but it felt like he kept stopping to tell us about these things to kill time in the 90 min tour. And when the tour guide would stop to tell us these facts and about the possible animals we ā€œmightā€ see every 10 minutes, everyoneā€™s kayaks would start colliding because he would stop without warning. And he wouldnā€™t let people know which direction we were headed next... he might go to the right one minute and then next thing you know heā€™s going left and then stops again and peopleā€™s kayaks start hitting each other. So it was just really frustrating to have that many people and kayaks out there together with little direction from the tour guide. And maybe this is not the peak season for seeing the bioluminescent... Iā€™m not sure... but if that is the case, that should be clearly advertised on their webpage about when the best time of year to come is. So I just think it was misleading on how itā€™s advertised and our expectations were higher based on what was advertised than what the actual tour is like. The staff were all very nice but the tour is not what we expected. And we probably wonā€™t do it again.

Well thank you for your review. We would have preferred you called us to let us know of your experience. So as our website explains, this is a seasonal activity, and it is clearly explained when the seasons are. We advertise exactly what every other guest has left reviews about. We do not control nature unfortunately, so we are her mercy. I wouldn't say that is misleading, that is just a fact. Had you called, we would have been more than happy to explain your oversight and offered to bring you back out at future time of your choosing. Instead you left a review insinuating that we only see sparkles, and that just sounds silly in the face of hundreds of reviews that say the complete opposite, that precceded your review.. Thank you for paddling out with us, see you soon!
