Former history teacher Naif Shahady certainly knows how to engage the group as he toured us around the French Quarter, stopping for samples of gumbo, turtle soup, shrimp Remoulade and more. But the best part was that he gave us a history of New Orleans through it's cuisine. Naif also offers private tours for families and I wouldn't hesitate to sign on, if I had kids with me. I've taken a lot of food tours all around the world and this was one of the best!

Three hour walking tour of top French Quarter restaurants sampling typical Cajun and creole cuisine in each restaurant. If you are lucky enough to get Naif our tour guide you will be delighted. He is knowledgeable about the whole history of New Orleans and Louisiana and being a retired teacher has a way of making his love of the subject infectious and interesting to all. The quality of the samples were first class and having done the same tour pre-Katrina I can say that it is much improved and is good value for money and recommended

We stopped by about 7 different places, had some great food, and learned about some interesting history. The history focused on the establishments we visited, some well known restaurants including Arnauds and Antoines - the oldest restaurant int he French Quarter. We some lesser known back rooms and museums that are open to the public but not visited often. All of the food was cooked well and fresh. Given the price point, I wish it would have lasted a little longer. The tour guide was entertaining and quite enjoyable.
