I went on this tour with a few girlfriends and we had a great time. It was a fun way to taste lots of different types of food that I would probably never have ordered otherwise. The menu included turtle soup, seafood gumbo, pralines, gelato, and brisket. Our tour guide (a young man) was very knowledgeable on the history and gave us lots of good info. The walking was very reasonable too. A great way to spend 3 hrs.

We had a private tour with a smaller group (6 of us total) with guide Candy. We all enjoyed learning about the different kinds of food and city history. Candy was very knowledgeable. We got a good taste of a wide variety of foods around the city. I would definitely recommend doing this as a great way to spend a leisurely afternoon in New Orleans.

My husband and I along with two other couples booked this tour and enjoyed it totally. We initially thought that the guys would only enjoy the food. However, they soon became captivated by the history of the food that the very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Candy shared with us. The guys are proud to tell everyone that they now know the difference between Cajun and Creole food. The tour gave us exactly what the description promised and more. The portions of the food were perfect tasting sizes and there was plenty to sample. The time passed so quickly but that tends to happen when you're having fun. It didn't seem like we had been walking that long because we had fun every step of the way. My group and I attended the same tour that America T attended. I was a bit disappointed when I reviewed her feedback. Candy was very professional and comical throughout the tour. There were many different races and nationalities represented in the tour group and she treated everyone with the same respect. My friends and I are African American so we would have certainly noticed if she didn't. I would not recommend that you not take this tour if you are only interested in eating food. This tour is packed full of very interesting historical facts. I mean I never thought that we would get to see the 100 year old dresses of past Mardi Gras queens. So if you plan on showing up screaming, " I'm starving, when do we eat?" or being disrespectful by spitting the food back into the bowl and saying, " This is awful. I can' eat this!" , I suggest that you not attend this tour. I also don't suggest leaving a review when you missed most of the tour because you were talking, texting, taking pictures and uploading them to a social network. If you truly want to learn about the culinary history of New Orleans and enjoy all the tastes that it has to offer, you will have a ball! If you aren't mature enough to enjoy it and you only come because you are starving, I recommend Deanies Seafood Reataurant.
