I’m a New Orleans native who has worked in the CBD (Central Business District), but I never thought of it as a tourist spot. Now it is one of my favorite areas of the city with a blend of older buildings with beautiful facades and newer skyscrapers. Josh V. was an excellent tour guide who presented an overview of all the changes in this area — from Bienville’s plantation to residential to cotton businesses and banks to today’s hotels and condos. The CBD makes a great walking tour because you will see the details you’ve missed working in the area or just driving through on a city tour bus. It is also quieter than the French Quarter, much less touristy, but just as historic!

We have been to New Orleans many times and are very familiar with the French Quarter. However, we had never taken a walking tour. Our tour guide was Steven and he was excellent. If you are interested in history, this is the tour to take. You get a guide who has gone through extensive training before he or she is allowed to volunteer for the Friends of the Cabildo tours. Steven's passion and love and knowledge of the French Quarter was evident throughout our two hour tour. I highly recommend this "adventure".

Josh's walking tour of the Marigny neighborhood was wonderful! I've driven through the Marigny countless times in my life but now see this neighborhood with new eyes. His explanation of the architecture and the people that shaped this part of our city brought the rich history to life. More visitors to our city need to branch out from the French Quarter and learn about the other neighborhoods that make New Orleans the interesting city it is today. Great tour!
