Our guide, Steve, led our group of 6 on an excellent walking tour of the French Quarter. The tour started at 1:30 at the Friends of the Cabildo Museum Store in the 1850 House on Jackson Square. The walking tour lasted about 2 hours and provided great information about the history of the French Quarter. In addition to providing a thorough historical narrative of the founding and growth of New Orleans via sights and landmarks, Steve did a nice job pointing out various aspects of the fascinating architecture here--both the transitions through history as well as practical needs. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour. We also appreciated that the proceeds benefit the Louisiana State Museum.

If you are looking to know more about the history of NOLA and it's architecture you have to take this tour. It's a tour hours walk around the streets of the FQ and you will get to know more about many aspects of this city. People of friends of Cabildo are passionate volunteer and they really strive to inform you about the beauty and unique history of New Orleans. We had a very enjoyable morning with Regine (she does English and German tour). They have restroom inside the 1850 house and after the tour you can visit the house to understand better the lay out of the apartment in that time. You can sign up on line in advance or show up at the museum.

Mr. Don Nolan gave an excellent historical walking tour of the French Quarter. We learned plenty and got a lot out of what we were looking at. It was very informative. If you're in New Orleans request Don to do your tour!
