The literary tour of the French Quarter with John Shields was wonderful. Fascinating stories and his knowledge of the writers who lived and worked in New Orleans at various times was extensive. We also gathered a lot of history about others who lived in the French Quarter, NOLA history and much architectural history was fabulous. I highly recommend doing this tour and especially with John!

John Shields' Literary walking tour of The French Quarter is outstanding. His knowledge of the writers who lived in or passed though New Orleans on their way to every literary prize given is extensive. The tour route passes through a wonderful cross-section of French Quarter architecture and history. John is laid back, fun to be with, always seeks shade, genuinely loves literature and it shows. He doesn't give this tour regularly, so follow the Friends of The Cabildo on FB to be sure you don't miss this tour if he is giving it while you are in NOLA. Thanks John.

Cathy was an excellent tour guide and she expertly narrated our two hour stroll through the French Quarter. My wife and I very much enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone who is seeking a better understanding of the unique history and present day story of New Orleans.
