I came in on a weekday afternoon when it had been raining and was lucky to end up on a private tour with Hopper! I truly enjoyed strolling around the French Quarter and hearing a mix of history / culture / personal anecdotes from his time living in New Orleans. I especially appreciated how he catered his spiel to my interests (aka didn't overwhelm me with historical dates, which I'm terrible at remembering). Loved his binder of maps and photos that supplemented various landmarks.

Our tour guide, Charles, was well informed and passionate. He not only gave a complete history of the French Quarter but also of the entire city of New Orleans. The tour covered a range of topics and time periods, and our guide was able to answer every question. We met at the back courtyard of the 1850 house and ended the tour at Jackson Square about 2 hours later. Although it was long, our guide made sure to stop at shady spots and in air-conditioned buildings. The tour was a great way to learn about the French Quarter.

Kate, our guide, was knowledgeable and humorous. We learned a lot while she was careful in keeping us out of the sun.
