Tom Whelen was our guide to the history and architecture of the New Orleans French Quarter Thinking we generally knew the history of this interesting area, Tom graciously disabused us of our misinformation with the real history made alive by walking the streets of this historical area. It was an outstanding and eye opening tour.

Our walking tour was led by the delightful Linda Deane, who has led these tours since the '70s and whose family goes back generations here. She gave us a fascinating, in-depth look at the history and architecture of the French Quarter. Her asides and insights were invaluable to understanding the lives of the people, as well as the social structures of the city.

This was our 4th visit to the city of New Orleans and the tour given by volunteer and retired teacher, Roger, was amazing! We've taken lots of tours in New Orleans, but Roger's tour beat them all in the way he brought history alive for us with visuals and interesting details about the buildings and people in the French Quarter.
