Overview

Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Great day on the boat. There was enough seating for everyone comfortably. They said to check in 45 mins before the boat leaves. I highly recommend getting in line even before that as it's first come, first serve for seats. Parking was easy and we found a spot on the wall down the pier from the boat. Food was decent-- continental breakfast, veggie and ranch for snack, lunch was deli sandwiches (seemed premade and basic from Costco) and pulled pork sandwiches (pulled pork was in a crockpot so it was hot) with mini bags of chips. They had beer and mixed drinks with pre-made mixers. Bar is cash only! I liked that they had a photographer on board. He walked around ahead of time to find out who would potentially be interested in purchasing a package. We received orange wristbands from him so he knew to spend extra time taking photos of us. He took photos of when we boarded the boat, at both snorkeling locations, and a few on the boat. In the end, the photos were good but his package was around $95 and I just couldn't justify spending that much for a few photos that would sit in my laptop for years. But definitely worth it for some families who had a bunch of people and were doing a bunch of activities for him to snap more photos. The crew was friendly and super helpful. The captain was funny and kept us entertained over the speaker the whole time. We saw a few sea turtles while snorkeling and a pod of dolphins while cruising.

Overall a good experience due to the team management that made it a fun. We were not able to make it to molokini crater due to the choppy weather…
