Loved everything about this activity from the start to finish. I was picked up at my hotel by Tony who was very personable and knowledgeable during the drive through the center of Oahu to Kailua, where Twogood Kayaks Hawaii, Inc is located. Since I was by myself, I met up with 5 couples with 1-3 kids aged between 8-15 years old who would be also on the excursion. We met with our guides for the day Ben and Taylir who told us we would all sleep good that night. They fitted us with life jackets, a must, our snorkeling equipment ( I just needed fins) our lunches and dry bags. After extensive safety and equipment instructions we were fitted with our paddles. I was driven to the beach by Tony and the owner of Twogood, Bob where we met up with the group, they all had rental cars. The kayaks were unloaded from the trucks and we all headed to the beach, where Ben and Taylir provided more safety and paddling instructions. Then we were off headed to Mokulua Island State Wildlife Sanctuary which was approximately a 2 1/2 mile paddle which wasn’t that easy since I was in a single person kayak, it was moderately windy and the current was strong. The coast line of Oahu was beautiful, we past lush mountains, a very expensive neighborhood set above the beach and a couple of smaller islands that other kayakers were visiting. We also pasted snorkels and several green sea turtles who were lazily swimming on top of the water . It took us about an hour to arrive at Mokulua. Ben and Taylir helped each of us to guide the kayaks to shore. Lunch being included was a turkey hoagie, Cheetos and water. It tasted so good after the paddle. A 1/2 hour hiking tour of the island was next, we didn’t see any Wedgetailed Shearwater birds that are native to Mokulua. Snorkeling was good the reef was small but there was an abundance of fish native to Hawaii, and there were 3 sea turtles hanging out in the water with us. About 1/2 hour before it was time to leave I was on the beach talking with Ben and Taylir, who are both very knowledgeable and a lot of laughs when we were visited by a local monk seal who drifted up to the beach and began to sunbathe. The fellows told be the Hawaiian monk seal is endangered, there’s only 1300 throughout the Hawaiian Islands, they are tagged and tracked. Our seal was a female and 2 years old, born on the tiny island next to Mokulua. Ben, Taylir and a couple of other tour guides roped our girl off to keep tourists at a safe distance for everyone. After several photos and saying goodbye to our beautiful new friend the guys launched all of us off for our 2 1/2 mile back to Kailua. We had many laughs along the way as we paddled back. Bob collected me at the initial launch, we headed back to Twogood Kayaks where I returned my equipment and Bob narrated our trip back to my hotel. All in all it was an awesome day, not too bad for a 39year old HAHA (actually 60+) woman who only kayaked 2 times before in a FLoria spring. If you are reading this you need to spend the day with Twogood Kayaks! P.S. I slept like a baby that night.

It was perfect, all the people at Kailua were helpful and we got what we needed and we were quickly in the water. Kailua was beautiful. Wish we would have been able to see more wildlife/fish or turtles but that’s how it goes sometimes. We still loved it!

We had the best adventure ever! We may have lost a few things while we were kayaking and had to be delayed a while but Ben came and picked up our kayaks! It was an amazing adventure and I will never forget it!
