Lots of information that’s not included in the description. Extra fees to get to the island; wanted to place the kayak on our car; not much direction at all from people in charge; thankfully a couple of people on islands helped

Aloha Jennifer S. We are sorry to hear that your kayak rental was not as enjoyable as it should've been. We do our best to be as informative to our clients as we possibly can. It is a Hawaii State law to pay a permit fee per person to visit the islands in Kailua as they are sea bird sanctuaries. This is an optional add on as not everyone chooses to land and explore the islands. It is also a Hawaii State law that all commercial activity is prohibited on Kailua/Lanikai Beach that unfortunately passed a few years back. So in order for our clients to transport their kayaks to the beach we provide soft foam racks and straps free of charge and show the the technique of how to load and strap your kayaks down. We also give you basic paddling instructions if needed, a thorough safety briefing and answer any questions you may have. If you visit our website twogoodkayaks.com under our rental tab it has all the information and more that has been stated above. We do also offer Guided Kayak Tours for those with little to no experience out on the ocean. Our guides are knowledgeable about the surrounding land, CPR and lifeguard certified and are there with you every step of the way if you need assistance. We hope this is a bit more informative for you and other as well. Please feel free to check out our website as it is also very informative. We also hope you'll give us another try, maybe a guided tour next time to ease your worries! Best of wishes!

I rented a double kayak for the day. We went paddling to the neighboring little island from Kailua beach park. We had tons of recommendations from Bob, the owner. It made us feel really safe. Bob is a pro paddler and knows everything about paddling in Hawaii, and maybe even more.

We opted for the self-guided fun by renting a tandem kayak. It took about an hour from when we arrived to when we got to the beach- by the time we did paperwork, loaded up, and did orientation. Unloading was really quick though. Bring sunscreen and sandals (not flip-flops) for unloading and loading the kayaks- and lots more to reapply when out at sea. Everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable, and the time at the island itself was absolutely amazing. The waves were a bit rough the day we went out but overall I would recommend this experience.
