Germaine's Luau

Overview

The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade.

The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular.

The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.

Wheelchair accessible - collapsible wheelchairs preferred
Most surfaces are wheelchair accessible, since we do have ramps to the Bar, the Restrooms, and the Ohana Gift Shop, and outside surfaces of the luau have harder sand
Motorized wheelchairs are allowed in most areas, however, Germaine's Luau will not be responsible for any damages to the electric mechanism for the chair due to sand, as our luau is on a private beachfront property.

It was a great luau. We were relatively last minute booking and got good seats and enjoyed the show. It’s a little campy at times but that made it more fun to a degree. Being from New Zealand they represented my culture pretty well. The food was great and they did not skimp on the drinks.

We were celebrating birthday , so Beautiful show, everything was organised, we liked the food and beverages. Also it was fun go to podium and participate in dancing.

Unfortunately our family had a horrible experience. The third party organization we booked the luau with gave up incorrect pickup time from our hotel. We were not picked up, even though each of our family of 5 paid an extra $35-40 for transport to/from Luau. We had to take an Uber at cost of $105.71 to Luau. We arrived and had to eat what was leftover- majority of food had been picked up. We were provided small round plates to stack our food on. We missed the majority of the Luau, including missed opportunity to take photos. So disappointed!!! Some finger pointing, unfortunately we lost out on a fun experience as was promised!
