Germaine's Luau

Overview
The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade.

The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular.

The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.

The entertainment was very good. The food just average. it was very strange that they gave you a very small and rather weak plastic fork and no knife. There were pieces of meat that definitely needed to be cut up and it was very difficult to eat them without picking them up on your hands, without the knife. A plastic knife would have been nice. Additionally, the only napkins given out were small and thin. "Premium" seating extended back to the third table back, which I've never seen at a luau before. So there were seats promoted as Premium that were really nothing special. It looked to me like half of the total seating was "regular" seating and half of the total seating was "Premium" seating, which should never be the case. I guess it's their way of getting more money for just average seating. Not good. All in all a pleasant enough experience, only because of the stunning location near the beach.
