Germaine's Luau

Overview

The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade.

The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular.

The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.

Wheelchair accessible - collapsible wheelchairs preferred
Most surfaces are wheelchair accessible, since we do have ramps to the Bar, the Restrooms, and the Ohana Gift Shop, and outside surfaces of the luau have harder sand
Motorized wheelchairs are allowed in most areas, however, Germaine's Luau will not be responsible for any damages to the electric mechanism for the chair due to sand, as our luau is on a private beachfront property.

The whole experience was memorable. The friendly staff, excellent food, the dancers and most of all the master of ceremonies. We were there for his last night. It was very touching. He had jokes and a good singing voice. My son and I plan to come back next year. Definitely will recommend to friends planning a trip to Oahu.

Great luau and glad we visited it. The buffet was good for the most part and the scenery was beautiful, dancers were very good and audience participation was fun.
