Grand Canyon Caverns, Route 66 with Electric Vehicle Museums Tour

Overview
The Route 66 Museum is truly unique in that it is a museum of history, housed in a historical building that lighted the way for the earliest Route 66 travelers. The building, built between 1907 & 1911, powered early Kingman and area mines starting in July 1909. It also supplied power for the construction of Hoover Dam, until the Dam began producing cheaper hydroelectric power in the late 1930s.
The Route 66 Electric Vehicle Museum, is the first of its kind anywhere. This Museum includes twenty-nine (and counting) vehicles on loan from the Historic Electric Vehicle Foundation, with members worldwide.
The tour begins with an elevator ride down 21 stories (210 feet) to the Chapel of the Ages cavern, the scene of numerous weddings throughout the years and large enough to hold two football fields. Your guide will tell you about the history of these awesome Caverns. Afterward, we will grab lunch (optional) at one of our area's favorite eateries.

Our tour guide Bob was amazing. He was so personable and polite. His sense of humor was a definite plus, and his knowledge of the history of the area was phenomenal. We learned a lot of fun facts. We loved the electric vehicle museum in Kingman and the old diner with the jukebox, and so much more. It was a blast from the past. We'll be back for sure.

My mom and I had a wonderful time with Bob on our tour to the powerhouse and museum on Route 66 and the trip to the cavern was worth the drive. Bob was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information and history during our drive. It was also nice to hear about his own family history in the area. We will be back and will tour with this team again. Terri & Judy

Bob was simply wonderful. Due to COVID-19 he made sure we were safe. When he picked us up he supplied masks and hand sanitizer. Loved all the information on Kingman. The Grand Canyon Caverns were unbelievable. Have lived in Arizona for more than 40 years and had never heard of them. We really enjoyed the trip to Stetson Winery. Great wine, the owner was a lot of fun

So pleased that you enjoyed your experience with Desert Wonder Tours. The Grand Canyon Taverns and Winery tour is a favorite that never disappoints. The cool ambient year-round temperature in the caverns makes it a perfect summer destination. Thank you for the great review!
