I took all three day hiking tours on consecutive days. Safari Tour, Lone Star Geyser, Bunsen Peak. I'm 64 y/o so all is do-able be anyone. The Safari Tour was full and for the others I was solo but Josh and his wive handled both circumstances equally enjoyably. It was obvious they enjoyed what they were doing and went out of their way to make the logistics work flawlessly and create a real nice lunch that was more than one could eat. Not a huge amount of wildlife, but can't count on it every time and there was enough to keep it interesting. Interestingly we got our bear sighting at the last moment while we were almost into Gardiner on our last tour. Great views from Bunsen Peak in particular. Having spent a few days at in-park lodging and activities, and a few days in Gardiner, MT and going with Yellowstone Hiking Guides I would opt to stay outside the Park in Gardiner and tour in for the future.

We signed up for the Lamar Valley hike with Yellowstone Hiking Guides on the basis of previous reviews and the fact that Emily Jo went to OK State University, our home state (Go Pokes!). It was a GREAT day with Josh and Emily Jo. We were immediately at ease with them and they were fantastic guides. They shared not only their knowledge of Yellowstone, its nature and history, but also their enthusiasm for all it has to offer. It was great seeing things through their eyes which gave us a perspective we would have missed otherwise. And, they are just downright awesome people! We enjoyed their company even more than the delicious hot coffee, Huckleberry muffins and picnic lunch they provided along the way, all of which were so good! We would definitely do another hike with them if we make it out that way again.

My husband and I had an amazing time with Josh and Emily Jo hiking in Yellowstone. On our way to Lamar valley, we stopped to watch for wildlife (we saw a lot of bisons and even two fighting, an eagle, pronghorns, elks, a wolf den...). We started our hike but the bisons made it unsafe so change of plans and we hiked around Trout Lake with beautiful views, across alpine meadows, woods... Our guides were so nice, very knowledgeable of the area, park history, fauna and flora and made the whole day just perfect. I also have to mention that the food and drink prepared for the day was unbelievable (hot chocolate, coffee, tea, huckleberry muffins, amazing sandwiches, fruits, veg, crisps, nuts, cookies....everything!) We loved our day and wished we had more time to do more with Josh and Emily Jo. We recommend them highly...go for it, you won't regret it!!!!
