I saw an ad online about the Grand Canyon Railroad, looked into it and based on reviews we booked the Luxury Dome Car both ways. it's worth the extra money, for both the service, we had Sandy, and for comfort. a nice 2 and a half hour ride to the park from Williams and the depot is right in the center of the village. did the optional bus tour in the park, which allowed us to see the Canyon from many view points. I definitely recommend

I first rode the Grand Canyon Railway in 1995 and it was a beautiful ride through the wilderness of Arizona to the Grand Canyon. I went again June 10, 2019 and the service is even better. It's not an ordinary train ride. Our passenger assistant, Donna, who is kind of like a guide while on the train, helped keep everyone entertained along with several other characters who were dressed in cowboy gear. There was snacks/refreshments and live music which makes this trip like no other. If you go to the Grand Canyon, please take the train, you won't regret it.

Because of mobility issues, we decided to take the train to the Grand Canyon. We purchased tickets ahead of time and it was easy to pick them up at the rail station. We chose the luxury dome and were very pleased with the luxury this affored us. This car had just recently been added to the train after being totally refurbished and it was indeed a special place to be. On our trip to the Grand Canyon, they served snacks of fresh fruit, bakery items, coffee, juice, water. Alcoholic drinks were available at a cost. The staff were entertaining and informative. We also signed up for the bus tour of the Grand Canyon but this turned out to be a bust...not because of the tour guide but because the weather was rainy, snowy and cold; in fact, we could not even see the Canyon because of the rain and fog. The lunch at the Maswick Lodge was very tasty. The train trip back to Williams was a good time too even though we traveled the same route as going to the Canyon earlier that same day. The entertainment was fun and made the trip seem quicker. The "train robbery" was cute...the "sheriff" never catching the robbers. Because of my husband's walking problems, the staff arranged for a golf cart to get us back to our car. They went over and above for this...so appreciated that. All in all, we would highly recommend this day adventure.
