This was such a disappointment. The train takes two hours to get up to the Canyon and if you only have one day to spend there, you just get four hours before you have to return to the train for the ride home. It literally crawls through a desert landscape which is the same all the way there and it is a really expensive ride, even in the standard coach class. Please Grand Canyon Railway, speed up!!

One of the stops on our vacation was the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams Arizona. Let me start by saying this is a first class operation. When we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful staff at the hotel. We checked in and made our way to our room which was exceptional. Since we bought the package deal, we made our way to the station to pick up our train and meal tickets. The station staff and cafe staff were very friendly and we became good friends with Karen, one of the cafe staff. They also had a guitarist that was very entertaining. The train trip to the Grand Canyon was very memorable as well. We sat in the dome car and the views were amazing. Our car host, Donna, was great and kept us entertained along the way as well as another guitarist who was a lot of fun. We were even held up by a band of horse riding train robbers on the way back to Williams. The robbers were a group of cowboys that had entertained us earlier that morning before we boarded the train. All in all I would have to say this was one of the most memorable two days My wife and I have ever had. If we could rate this higher than five stars we would. Excellent experience!!!!

The Grand Canyon Railway and hotel is a great place to stay we stayed there and took the train to south rim of Grand Canyon. The hotel is spotless clean. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was very good with train theme. The food and entertainment at the restaurant was super. The train ride was super fun. Our host was very informative and very friendly. The entertainment is very good with singers and a train robbery. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great vacation
