This is a fun train ride. If you want to see the whole park in 3 hours book a tour bus. We tried to walk and it was too much.

We did the luxury car up and the luxury dome back. Very comfortable ride. BIG TIP- the luxury cars have wonderful snacks: pastry, petit fours, fruit, cheese & crackers, along with many soft drinks as part of your ticket. We went to the Harvey Restaurant for breakfast first and it was disappointing and expensive. The refreshments on the train would have been plenty. Save some money and enjoy the train ride.

The Grand Canyon train trip was wonderful. We bought the Package deal for the Grand Railway Hotel & ā€œLuxuryā€ train ticket to celebrate our 46th anniversary. The hotel was very nice & the desk clerk was very friendly & took care of all our needs & questions about our train trip the next day. Our room was nicely updated & very comfortable. The train ticket & depot is a short walk from the back of the hotel. The ticket office has a nice snack bar with fresh coffee, drinks, sandwiches, fudge & more. Since our ā€œluxuryā€ tickets included coffee, OJ, small muffins, donuts, & trail mix we didn’t buy anything from the snack bar. Our car had couches & small tables, and had a full bar & delightful attendant/bartender, Teryl. She warmly welcome us & explained the itinerary suggestions for the day trip to the canyon. After a short time outside of Williams, Teryl opened the bar for a variety of drinks such as Mimosas, delicious Bloody Mary’s & a variety of liquor tails or beer. I had he Bloody Mary, which was great( thanks Teryl for the extra olivesšŸ’•). Teryl is an excellent storyteller! She kept us totally entertained with the history of the train & interesting canyon stories. Our Conductor, George was also welcoming & helpful with navigating the train schedules & travel process. Teryl gave excellent advice about where to meet the tour buses & suggested where we should start our self-walking tour of the canyon. She was spot on! After walking around the rim & points of interest, we had lunch at El Tovar. Another delicious experience. The trip back to Williams was fun & we enjoyed the champagne or Sparkling Cider, cheese, meats, crackers, veggie tray & dip & petit fours Teryl set up & served us. Again the car was also open for cocktails. We were treated to a guitar player & traditional cowboy or country songs by request & wonderful fiddler. The mock train robbers were funny & and talented. We had a wonderful experience & we highly recommend this trip by train the canyon! Thank you George & Teryl!
