We took the Pullman car on a round trip to the South Rim of the Canyon. It was fun to hear stories of the history of the railway and the Grand Canyon during our ride. The seats were fairly comfortable. There is no air conditioning in this car but the windows come down for some air. The singers were fun, as was the entertainment before and after. The snack car was behind our car which made getting in and out of the bathroom really crowded but overall, it was a really fun way to spend the day. If you want more time at the canyon, they offer bus tours and overnight stays.

Unforgettable but expensive. Rail trip was pricey and then the US Park service tacked on $35 for each of us except if we had remembered our life-time senior pass. Total it cost $338.35 for the just two of us. Gratuity was not included.

I thought the ride would be a little hokie, with the wild west theme, fake train robbery, etc. but it turned out to be a great way to travel to the South Rim. It is a comfortable ride in vintage cars with the convenience of ample and clean restrooms, beverages and snacks as well a live musical entertainment and we were fortunate enough to have a lively car host who provided entertainment, humor and a lot of good information.
