The tour was very enjoyable, personal and informative; a great start to exploring the Grand Canyon. All the places visited were wonderful and the views of the Canyon were well chosen. Our guide, Richard Thayer, knew the Canyon backwards and forwards, constantly pointing things out and adding a new depth to everyone's appreciation of what we saw. In our group of 10 people, one of them was a teenage girl on crutches and a cast on her leg. She was accommodated very well and her disability was in no way limiting to the others in the group. Snacks and drinks were provided for everyone throughout the tour and the lunch location was perfect. Handouts with all of the spoken information were provided and samples of the layers of the Grand Canyon were made available for purchase after the wonderful presentation that explained how the Grand Canyon came to be. The entire tour was very comfortable and I definitely recommend it to anyone of any age that wants to learn about the Grand Canyon and everything the area has to offer.

I agree with the three most recent reviews. This tour was really amazing and for first timers, like we were, gives you a great overview of the canyon. We did it as our first side trip (we took several) and I recommend doing it early during your days there. Richard Thayer has a passion and a VERY vast knowledge of the canyon, its geology, the best spots for photo opportunities, etc. Plus, he is just a nice, easy going guy. We also went to the Navajo Trading Post and ate a delicious Indian Taco for lunch. Then, we stopped at the Navajo roadside craft stand and purchased some jewelry and a handmade Christmas ornament. Our 13-year-old son enjoyed the all-day tour and didn't get bored. One recommendation: As a precaution, take or apply sunscreen before the tour. There are a number of stops and the sun is very intense. A great day!

This was our first visit to the Grand Canyon and it was made even more unforgettable by our Canyon Dave tour. Our guide, Richard Thayer, was a wonderfully warm man who loves the Canyon. He taught us about the geology, history and plants of the area while showing us dramatic views. We had a terrific lunch and souvenir stop at the Navajo trading post. The Navajo Taco was delicious (but have the small one as the large is crazy big!) and the large store had every gift type and price point. The van was comfortable and air-conditioned and stocked with snacks and cold drinks. I was initially worried that an 8 hour tour would be too much but the time flew by. Even our 13 and 14 year old sons loved every minute. I cannot recommend this tour (and Richard) highly enough. What an enhancement to the Canyon experience!!
