The Park Service is limiting group sizes to 9, while we are not putting multiple groups in a van, which can mean we have limited availability. We encourage everyone to wear masks & it has been mandated for our guides by Coconino County.

What To Expect

Grand Canyon South Rim

Your tour starts from your Flagstaff hotel with morning pickup by a knowledgeable, informative local guide. Upon meeting your group, you will be regaled with stories of the geology and natural history explanations of how the Grand Canyon came to be.

My husband and I took a Canyon Dave tour several years ago, and were so impressed, we knew we wanted our kids and grandkids to enjoy the experience. This time we invited two sons and two grandsons, as a Christmas gift. The hands-on geology lesson, with actual rock samples to pass around and examine was a huge hit. There was just the right combination of van time and opportunities to get out and walk a bit to enjoy special viewpoints. Dora provided drinks and snacks in the van, and a delicious lunch at the Navajo reservation was included in the tour fee. From the time we were picked up until we were dropped off at the end of the day, Dora shared her wealth of knowledge about the Grand Canyon. We learned of plant and animal life in the area, native peoples, and the history of the formation and evolution of the Grand Canyon itself. Dora is kid-friendly, without being condescending, and able to easily keep both kids and adults fully engaged. I hope we can come back again with more grandchildren!

A very beautiful, entertaining but above all educative tour of Grand Canyon. Dora shared with us her knowledge about geology, history, biology, and contemporary society. We got a really didactic lesson in rock formation and the various ages of the planet. She also made sure that no-one's blood sugar would drop, by providing soft drinks and snacks in the minibus. The lunch in Cameron was very good, and we had the opportunity to taste traditional Navajo food, and buy local items. If you want to do more than just take pictures, or you want to know more than just te depth of the canyon, we can really recommend this tour.

We took the all day tour with Dora and had the best time!!! Our kids learned so much about geology and the Grand Canyon that we would have never known otherwise. Thank you Dora for an amazing day that we will never forget!!!!
