I understand the views and the scenery are far better at the South and North Rims, but visiting from Las Vegas we simply could not make the trip that far in one day, so we needed to settle to Grand Canyon West. I did feel that the admission was a bit steep, but it is what it is. We ordered the tickets online, including the Skywalk. ThereĀ“s a large parking space just next to the tent building that serves as a souvenir shop and also they sell tickets there. Bought some pretty bad hot dogs from there and some drinks. Passing the entrance building, thereĀ“s a waiting area for the buses that take you to the Skywalk and I believe also to Guano Point. The bus to Skywalk came pretty soon, and it was maybe a 5-minute ride tops. Once there, we headed to the Skywalk, youĀ“ll need to wear plastic coverings over your shoes (so as to not to scratch the glass floor panels on the deck) and leave your phone etc in a locker. The view is just ok, but youĀ“ll get much better views (and photos for free) at the Guano Point to where thereĀ“s a free shuttle every 15 minutes or so. Had I known the difference in views, I would not have bought the overpriced "professional" photos at the Skywalk. The guy was simply snapping away the photos, and he took a look at the camera screen for a fraction of a second and concluded that the photo was ok. Turns out they were not that great, and I would not recommend to buy those photos unless you can verify yourself on the spot that the photos turn out as you want them. I can recommend Skywalk for the experience but it loses to Guano Point in views 6-0. In fact, without Guano Point I would have felt very disappointed, and it was easily the high point of the visit. Be sure to climb to the highest point there for best views.

The place and view is excellent. We love the Grand Canyon. Service was extremely disappointing at the glasswalk. The crew, especially the lady monitoring the line was rude and does not know how to treat guests appropriately. Training staff to be courteous and respectful may be helpful.

So worth the money. Make sure to visit the Guano Point as well as the Sky Walk. Guano Point had breath taking views. Also the food was very good and actually priced very reasonably compared to food prices outside of the Reservation.
