What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

Our time spent at Gypsy Gold Horse Farm was, indeed, golden! We walked away with so much knowledge about the gypsy vanner horses and we truly loved walking around meeting the beautiful creatures. Our hosts were entertaining and friendly...it is indeed a trip everyone should make!

Interesting talk before the tour from the owner providing visitors with the history of the horses and how he brought them to America The animals are just gorgeous specimens Mules who are surrogate mothers are amazing

I live in the Ocala are so it's no inconvenience to take visiting guests to the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. There is an energy, a feeling of grandeur and grace in the Gypsy Vanner Horses and the owner and caregivers of the farm, Dennis Thompson, Erin and Gabriel. Dennis's story telling (true stories) will give you a history lesson like no other and leave you full of laughter and maybe even some tears of joy just before he guides you through a visit to meet the mares and stallions cared for on the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. Don't forget some carrots to feed the horses, mules, donkeys, goats and maybe some unsalted almonds for the macaws & cockatoo parrots also cared for there. May your first visit never be your last!
