What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

When we arrived at the farm, we were met by Erin who gave us a quick overview of our tour. We all went to a small room where the owner, Dennis Thompson, shared his life experience and his fascination with the Gypsy Vanner Horse. He is a great speaker and very knowledgeable and entertaining in his narration. After this introduction we toured the farm and met all the live stock. Beginning with BB King, the stallion. We saw mares and foals and mules! We also saw Macaws and Cockatoos. The 40 acres farm is just beautiful!! Overall the event lasted almost 2 1/2 hours and well worth the $30 per person ticket. Hopefully we’ll be BAC again!

Wow what beautiful farm. The horses are so gorgeous! Our tour guide, is also the owner, was outstanding! What a lovely tour. Don't miss it when you are in Ocala.

This tour was an absolute delight!! Owner/Guide, Dennis Thompson was sooo informative and knowledgeable! he answered all our questions and told some terrific stories about the wonderful Vanner horses..The horses and birds were adorable, and everyone had a GREAT time! We definitely will be back! Such a wonderful place to have in Marion County/Ocala, Florida
