Ive waited a day to write this review, since I wanted time to process what happened. Full disclosure: 98% of this experience I would recommend. Billy, our tour guide was amazing. He was very informative and made us feel safe before biking down. He made us repeat multiple times where to ride: not in the bike lane due to safety concerns. About half way down the mountain, the other tour guide, Cory, pulled us over and screamed in my face for a couple minutes. Now, I have no idea what the people behind me were doing. I was in the front with my husband, and behind us were a family of five and two other couples. But because I was in the front, he screamed at me for holding up traffic. I can only speak for myself, but I was following the directions of our tour guide, billy. It was absolutely uncalled for. IV never been screamed at like that before, and one of the kids started to cry when he left. There’s a way to talk to people, and that is not it. I would never recommend paying over $500 to be screamed at on the side of the road. When we got back to the office, we spoke with our guide who profusely apologized and told us we were doing exactly what he instructed, as he watched us the first ten miles. I wish we had a different experience, I would just urge caution in case this were to happen to others.

A MUST when in Maui! Seeing a sunrise at 10,000 ft. is incredible and must in Maui, promise the cold & wind is super worth the incredible views! We chose to do the self-guided bike ride option and it gave us more freedom to take our time, pick up the pace when we wanted, stop and checkout the town of Makawao. Great activity and you get back early for plenty of time for the beach in the afternoon!

What a unique and fun experience! Our family of 4 enjoyed the bike ride down the mountain. The guide was informative on the way up and we appreciated the fact that we could take our time on the way down and stop where we wanted and for as long as we needed to. We were told of places that offered food on the way down so we stopped for some extremely yummy donuts per the recommendation of our guide. That being said, unless seeing the sunrise is a must, I would recommend saving money and going later in the day.
