My husband and I very much enjoyed our rafting trip on the Lower Animas. I was a bit nervous as I had not done a raft trip like this before. As it turned out, the water this year is quite low and so there were no really hairy moments. More important, I felt in very good hands with our guide, Rio, who was terrific in every way: Lots of river experience (hence his nickname), very considerate, a good sense of humor, and an all around interesting guy who has done some out of the box things as well as a stint in the army as an advance reconnaissance soldier. Mild to Wild seems to be a great company that takes its safety responsibilities seriously, but whose staff are all good fun. Highly recommend this beautiful raft ride.

The river was running a little low, but the weather was outstanding and the trip well coordinated. Our guide, Cassidy, used every ounce of her tiny frame to muscle our boat down the Animas! She was great!

We have gone rafting with mild to wild a couple of times and they never fail to make it so much fun! The guides are super nice and very knowledgeable about where to go around town. Water is a great temperature and even with current low levels it’s an absolute must do!
