Half-Day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Private Tour

Overview
We begin this wildlife photo tour by heading north along the western boundary of the National Elk Refuge to Grand Teton National Park. Here we will travel along the southern park roads watching for wildlife and stopping frequently for photo-ops. Wildlife we frequently encounter on this trip includes bison, elk, deer, moose, pronghorn, (aka antelope), fox, coyote, bear, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might choose to stop at the Jackson Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The route varies seasonally based on group interest, road closures and wildlife migration.

We did the half day safari hoping to see some wildlife. Our guide Ash took us to amazing places. Our kids were so thrilled to see so much wildlife. Ash was very informative on all aspects of the park. We learned more in the few hours we were with her than in any of the books we brought. Highly recommend this experience.

Our tour guide, Dwight V picked us up right on time (6:15 am!) at our rental unit. It was great to get out so early in an effort to see some wildlife. Aside from that, Dwight has a great amount of photography experience/knowledge which was wonderful. He had snacks and water for the whole family, and great binoculars for us to use. Additionally he set up a powerful spotting scope so we could see some of the wildlife up close. We arranged the tour for the first morning of our trip which was wonderful because Dwight was able to share many helpful tidbits that we useful as we explored Grand Teton Park the following several days. Thanks to Dwight and Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris for a great outing!

Lee Ramella is an exceptional guide with an impressive knowledge of the parks and their history, the wildlife and where to see them, and the interconnectedness of the ecosystem. We had an amazing grizzly encounter near Pilgrim Creek (Grizzly 399?), and Lee also showed us plenty of elk, bison, pronghorn, and marmot. Lee's paramount concern is safety and "following the rules". Best of all, Lee showed us his passion and love of what he does – and this made a great experience even more special.
