Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview
Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

We did the half day snorkel trip with Pirate Cove. It was an awesome day out. Caiti and Hadriam were a great crew, knowledgeable, passionate about their jobs and the ecosystem and great fun. We saw turtles, sharks, rays and other amazing marine life. The tour was worth every cent, canā€™t recommend highly enough

It was my very first snorkel trip (67) and my husband (71) hadnā€™t been in 40 yearsšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ and it was a wonderful time! We did buy masks with corrective lenses (not prescription but did correct for some of our vision loss) at Scuba Outlet prior to the trip, but used their snorkels and fins. Capt Pete and first mate Cutler go over every detail about how to use the equipment and safety precautions and dive coach Hadrian (?) provided a litany of funny jokes to get everyone in a fun frame of mind. When our masks leaked or other issues arose, the whole crew was helpful in helping to fix the issue and get us back in the water. Wonderful clear water and lots of sea creatures!

Captain John and his crewmate (forgot the name) were very friendly and fun! We got to see a sea turtle, saw an underwater Jesus statue, beautifull fish and corals, and more.
