Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview
Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

Great trip with Hadriam and captain Caiti. Very fun experience and excellent instruction about where the best places to check out were within the reefs! Hadriam is hilarious and entertaining while also being responsible. I noticed that this combo really put the people who were new to snorkeling at east :). Husband and I had a great time. Would recommend!

First off, Capt. John and Capt Cutler were fantastic. After that it kind of falls off. The snorkeling was average, and very packed. Not only was our boat loaded to capacity (roughly 40 people), the reef was full of other other boats and snorklers. This was acceptable for the cost and understanding that this is a busy time of year. What is not acceptable is Pirate's Cove's terrible recommendation for the Stream2Sea sunscreen they promoted and provided. This product failed MISERABLY. It was applied liberally a full 30 minutes prior to entering the water. Now my entire family is suffering from bright red and painful sunburn... on day 3 of our week long vacation. Being from WI and knowing our skin has not seen the sun in 5 months, we had been very careful and using sunscreen religiously during our time in FL. On the recommendation of Pirate's Cove (sent in the email confirmation), we decided to forgo our normal spray-on sunscreen to use their sunscreen which they claim is better for the reef, and just as effective... this was a lie. When a company promotes a product, they tie their reputation to that product. This was not only a failure for Stream2Sea, but also for Pirate's Cove.

John and Kassie were amazing! Great, no fuss experience. Beautiful, scenic ride. I thought it was going to be more of a catamaran, but was not disappointed in the experience.
