Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

First of all they said they take you out to two different reefs but actually they just take you to 10 feet away/the other side of the same reef LOL 🙄 prerty disappointing. Secondly they force you to listen to 80's garbage music the WHOLE TIME and won't change the type of music. They also won't let you drink until all the snorkeling is done with which is a first for my experience of boat trips. Also the benches were really just not comfortable for a 3.5 hour boat ride.

We regret your experience did not meet your expectations. The crew does pick locations based on conditions. I believe on your trip the seas were a bit rough on most reefs due to winds and the Captain choose the locations that would be the calmest for the customers to minimize motion sickness. We normally go to 2 locations. As for the Music, we are a family orientated company and the music is to be light, easing listening. Our crew did their mandated job by not allowing anyone to drink alcohol before or while snorkeling. Safety is our priority but after snorkeling anyone of age is welcome to enjoy beverages of their choice.

We were a little disappointed that conditions were going to be too bad to visit Christ of the Abyss but they were completely upfront with it and offered to refund us if that was a problem. The kids had a great time and said it was an awesome snorkel trip!
