Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview
Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

This is not a trip for young children. The water is very rough (4-5ā€™ waves) and it is extremely difficult to snorkel even for strong swimmers. Almost 3/4 of our passengers were sick from the rocking of the boat. With that said, the crew did a fabulous job. They cannot control the weather or the seas. We did manage to see some amazing fish and the reefs are gorgeous. My husband and daughter saw a shark (not sure if thatā€™s good or bad šŸ˜±).

The waves were 4 to 5 five feet, which made the snorkeling/swimming nearly impossible, especially while trying to keep track of family members including children, who we would often lose sight of due to the wave heights. Nearly every snorkeler became sick on the boat. The crew did a good job trying to keep spirits up, but it would have been better to call off the trip.
