Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

This was by far the best snorkel Trip I’ve experienced. The captain and crew were so funny and extremely educated on marine life. I saw a nurse shark!!! So beautiful to see such sea life in their natural habitat. My wife and I recommend these guys.

We had a great time today snorkeling with Pirates Cove Watersports. Our guides were Pete and Mike Cutler. They were beyond fantastic. You could tell they really enjoyed what they did. Unfortunately, the waves were 1-2 feet high (seemed higher to me, lol) and myself, my daughter and a couple other passengers got very seasick. We were warned beforehand about the waves and asked if we wanted to continue. I was able to enjoy snorkeling at the first reef we stopped at. Very beautiful. Cutler was so patient with our family and our "sea sickness". He entertained my kids and us with his jokes and information on the reef. My husband and I had gone snorkeling and the kids stayed on the boat for a while and were well taken care of. They went over safety measures very thoroughly beforehand. The boat was 45 feet long and we had plenty of space. All our gear was cleaned and we felt safe to use it even during the covid outbreak. There is a small toilet on board, portable "shower" to rinse off afterwards. They provided a lot of water from the disposable cone paper cups and fruit on board also. They have a cooler on board so we were able to bring our own drinks and snacks as well. You really dont need to bring anything with you except a towel, snacks if you want, yourself and your ability to swim. Everything else is taken care of. They give you life vests, snorkel gear, and fins. Even have anti-fog spray for your masks. Regardless of being sick most the time I would definitely book another tour with Pirate Cove Watersports. I felt safe and they helped me feel as comfortable as possible on board. Our family did have a great time and memories for a lifetime, lol. Thanks guys!
