Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

We had an awesome time with first mate Dave, Capt. Russel and diving instructor Cutler! Very fun and accomodating to our snorkeling skills. I totally recommend booking with Pirates Cove. We visited 2 spots on the Molasses Reef. We had a group of 6 ladies that had either no swimming experience or were strong swimmers. Dave, the snorkeling guide, was very accomodating of our group and every individual's swimming level. He made sure everyone was comfortable and checked in with us constantly to make sure we were fine. In the end of our time, he had our friend that was not a swimmer in the water enjoying all the coral and the fish in the Keys. Dave gave us details/identified the fish we saw and provided light snacks for us. Our entire group agreed that the crew, especially Dave, made the experience for all us memorable. Also, I had to make a modification to our group reservation (originally 8 and then dropped down to 6). I called the office and they updated my reservation and refunded me the fees for the 2 people very quickly.
