Half Day Snorkel Trip on Reefs in the Florida Keys

Overview

Come join us snorkeling some of the most beautiful reefs within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Pennekamp State Park. We have many possible reefs to explore: Molasses, Elbow, French Reef and the famous Christ of the Abyss on Dry Rocks. These protected areas offer an opportunity to see turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels and a variety of different fish. These special reefs are part of the 3rd largest living reef system in the world and the ONLY living coral reef in the US. We stop at two different locations on the reef. Each stop is determined by the captain based on the day's conditions. We cannot guarantee any specific site.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience!

Both capt Russell and Cutler were very personable and friendly. Shared safety info and local knowledge about our snorkel spots. Was disappointed that we were NOT treated to the 3 1/2 hours we paid and promised—that is why only an average rating. We left dock late (late guest arrivals) and we returned early. Best to ask where you are going to be snorkeling. The ad mentions many spots but you may NOT be going where you hope to (for various reasons). Clean comfortable boat with a washroom and equipment all newer and in good condition.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We really appreciate your business and honest feedback. Our snorkel trips are two stops which are captain's choice based on conditions. Our goal is to take you to the sites that the captain feels will provide you with the best overall experience. We never promise an exact site but do our best to accommodate requests if we receive them. The sites listed on our website are examples of reefs here in the upper Keys. Our trips are two stops for approximately one hour each, but part of the trip is the ride to and from the reef (which can be longer or shorter depending on which reef is chosen). The captain may also leave a site sooner if all guests are on the boat and ready to depart. We really try our best to accommodate everyone on the boat the best we can. Captain Russell and Mike were fantastic! Both were very knowledgeable about the area and entertaining with jokes and stories. Weather was perfect, reefs were beautiful. Highly recommend.

My buddy booked a snorkeling trip with Pirates Cove for another good friend’s bachelor party. We went out with Capt Brian and Cutler. They were a great team and helped make our experience that much more awesome. Would definitely recommend booking with them.
